Shopsical Community Guidelines

Welcome to Shopsical a next-generation social commerce platform built on trust, community, and creativity. Our community guidelines are here to ensure that everyone from vendors to shoppers, creators to community contributors can thrive in a safe, inclusive, and respectful space.
By using Shopsical, you agree to follow these guidelines, in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Violating them may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
Respect & Inclusion
- At Shopsical, we welcome diversity of thought, culture, and background. Hate has no place here.
- You must not:
- • Use discriminatory language based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality
- • Harass or bully users through messages, reviews, or content
- • Post or share anything promoting violence, hate groups, or extremism
- • Use slurs, threats, or derogatory comments subtle or overt
- We expect you to treat every shopper, vendor, and team member with dignity.
Prohibited Content
- Certain content simply has no place on Shopsical:
- • Sexually explicit or pornographic content
- • Nudity or sexually suggestive content involving minors (zero tolerance)
- • Depictions of violence, abuse, or cruelty
- • Graphic or gory imagery
- • Illegal goods or services, including firearms, narcotics, and counterfeit products
- • Misinformation related to health, safety, or finance
- • Deepfakes or manipulated media meant to deceive
- We remove such content immediately and may notify authorities when required.
Commerce-Specific Rules
- Vendors must:
- • Only list products they can fulfill within their specified delivery time
- • Accurately describe item condition, price, and variations
- • Use real images of products, not stolen ones
- • Clearly state shipping timelines and return policies
- • Not engage in price gouging, fake discounts, or bait-and-switch practices
- Buyers must:
- • Only place orders they intend to complete
- • Communicate respectfully with vendors
- • Not misuse refunds, chargebacks, or leave false reviews
Content Posting Standards
- We encourage creativity, but not at the expense of safety or quality.
- Allowed content includes:
- • Product reviews (text, images, video)
- • Unboxing experiences
- • How-to videos or styling tips
- • Testimonials and haul videos
- • Any other thrilling content
- Not allowed:
- • Fake endorsements or testimonials
- • Content that incites controversy or conflict
- • Overly graphic or clickbait thumbnails
- • Content that promotes off-platform transactions
- We aim to curate authentic and helpful content that enhances the buying experience.
Interactions & Reviews
- We believe in real conversations and honest feedback.
- You may:
- • Leave constructive reviews and ratings
- • Ask questions on product listings
- • Share shopping tips or lists
- You may not:
- • Harass vendors with negative comments or fake orders
- • Leave false reviews for competitors or in exchange for incentives
- • Leak private messages or personal information
- • Threaten or manipulate with "review bombs"
- Vendors also may not bribe users for positive reviews.
Intellectual Property (IP)
- Respect original creators.
- Prohibited actions:
- • Uploading someone else's photos, designs, or videos without permission
- • Selling counterfeit or unlicensed products
- • Using another brand's name to boost visibility
- • Infringing on third-party copyrights or trademarks
- Shopsical responds swiftly to IP takedown requests and may ban repeat offenders.
Spam, Scams & Misleading Practices
- We fight bad actors to protect your trust.
- You must not:
- • Use bots or fake accounts
- • Send unsolicited promotions
- • Run pyramid schemes or affiliate scams
- • Post misleading prices (e.g., ₦1 product but ₦10,000 shipping)
- • Ask buyers to pay off-platform or through "manual payment" unless using Shopsical's system
- Report scams immediately using our in-app reporting system.
Minors & Guest Mode
- We take the protection of minors seriously.
- Users under 13 can only access Guest Mode with restricted features
- No content may be sexual, exploitative, or risky to underage users
- All vendors selling age-restricted items (e.g., skincare, supplements) must clearly label products and comply with regulations
- Shopsical reserves the right to request age verification where necessary.
Enforcement & Reporting
- Our community is built on accountability. To enforce these guidelines:
- We use AI and human moderators to detect violations
- Users can report posts, vendors, or comments with just a few taps
- Repeated or severe violations may result in:
- • Content takedown
- • Feature restriction
- • Account suspension or permanent ban
- • Legal action (for fraud, impersonation, or copyright theft)
- We review all reports promptly and fairly.
Continuous Improvement
- Our guidelines evolve as Shopsical grows.
- We review them regularly to address:
- • New social trends
- • Emerging safety issues
- • Legal changes
- • Community feedback
- You will be notified of major changes, and we encourage all users to check this page periodically.
